Willy's en Marjetten

Willy's en Marjetten

'Willy's en marjetten' is a collection of humorous small-town sketches, stories and reports from a region that vaguely resembles the east of flanders. The sketches star flemish tv producer bart de pauw, who is world famous in flanders, and a group of young cabaret artists who call themselves ‘neveneffecten’ (side effects). No subject is off limits and the programme holds up a mirror to the whole of flanders, putting great emphasis on the average fleming’s pettiness. Satire on current events, tv and society that leaves no one untouched.

For many years, people have been trying to make sense of the world we live in. To that end, they come up with the weirdest categories: they break down the world into men and women, apollonian and dionysian minds, natives and migrants, spectators and participants, alphas and betas, active explorers and passive hedonists, stones fans and beatles fans, thinkers and doers, vegetarians and carnivores, and so on. But why complicate things? After all, the world consists of willy’s and marjetten!
